Many homeowners would like to incorporate green energy solutions into their home, but worry about reliability. Tesla's Powerwall is a great option for harnessing the sun's energy. It enables the homeowner to collect solar energy during the day and store it in their home's battery.
This creates more reliability by allowing a homeowner to store excess solar energy for use at night, on cloudy, overcast, foggy, or rainy days, and during emergency backups in the event of an outage.
The PowerWall integrates with the local grid and uses "load shifting" to charge the battery during periods of low rates and to return energy when rates go up (i.e. buy low, sell high).
According to Tesla, homeowners may be able to achieve "net-zero" by creating at least as much energy as the home uses.
In terms of this product's environmental benefits, the Powerball has a small footprint (about the size of an electrical panel) and an obtrusive profile.
